P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently seeking a Base Operator to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full time, permanent basis.
Role Summary:
Carry out all aspects of general yard and tank workshop duties as required by the Base Team Leader/ Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure all waste containers and skips are tidy and report when full to the Line Management.
- Ensure the safe and efficient movement of assets and equipment to and from other company site using company vehicles.
- Inspect, identify and segregate all equipment requiring repair, test and maintenance.
- Carry out transportable tank washing, tank filling and tank testing, liaising with 3rd party authoritative bodies when required.
- Maintain operational stock information figure state boards on a daily basis.
- Distribute relevant daily in use documentation to the correct departments.
- Liaise closely with logistics control to assess and report unit availability and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate tank fuel transfer records throughout the working day on relevant documentation.
- Assist other departments as deemed necessary by Yard Team Leader.
- Carry out forklift (if qualified) movement of tanks and equipment including the loading and unloading of carrier vehicles.
- Maintain forklift, motor vehicle and daily maintenance check records.
- Carry out post rental inspection of CCUs, tanks and equipment.
- Carry out pre-despatch inspection of CCUs tanks and equipment.
- Clean and wash general purpose chemical tanks.
- Clean and wipe out Heli fuel tanks.
- Fill Heli fuel tanks with JET A-1 and carry out operations on the tank farm.
- Carry out repairs, painting tasks and recertify tanks as necessary.
- Carry out pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of tanks.
- Carry out PRV testing.
- Carry out visual inspections of tanks and containers, embossing data plates with up-to-date information.
- Carry out surface preparation of tank frames and equipment and re-paint as required.
- Maintain all databases and carry out hire and repair actions as necessary.
- Report all accidents and operational anomalies to the line manager.
- Process bulk diesel receipts.
- Maintain two-way radio discipline and security.
- Maintain vigilance regarding site security, challenge unknown personnel, directing them to the admin office as necessary.
- Maintain strict tool control using the tool tagging system and weekly register.
- Maintain strict HAVS control and record usage of vibrating equipment used.
- Operate electrical air compressor.
- Assist in fire alarm system testing when requested through the HSEQ Manager/ Operations Manager.
- Maintain ecological awareness and the risks of JET A-1 and hazardous products to life and environment.
- Maintain strict adherence to fall arrest and safety harness procedures where qualified.
- Maintain strict adherence to respiratory equipment protocols.
- Report all defects and maintenance issues as they arise to effect corrective actions.
- Actively participate in and attend all briefings, toolbox talks, and training presentations as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferred working at height, forklift and confined space training qualified.
- Experience with bulk fuel installation.
- Forklift experience (essential).
- Driving Licence (essential).
Working Hours:
- Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00, with 1 hour for lunch.
