Job description

P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently seeking a Plant Controller to join their team based in Norwich on a full-time permanent basis.

Role Summary:

The plant controller is part of the Finance team with full P&L / Balance Sheet / Cash Flow responsibility for the respective plant and Business Partnering with the respective plant manager. This position is leading all financial matters within the plant.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of month end closing.
  • Implementation of guidelines.
  • Review of the monthly financials of the plant; Comment on plant result – provide full insight in variances.
  • Report in monthly plant calls.
  • Lead monthly reporting reviews with plant management team.
  • Main Finance contact for plant manager.
  • IS supported by BSC / Sales Controlling / Manufacturing Controlling.
  • Lead in plant all financial matters, including controlling, budgeting, CAPEX, investment appraisal, OCF, costs reduction strategies.
  • Responsible for variance analyses, including identification of business and cost trends and recommendations for cost management, operational changes, etc.
  • Delivering annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and controlling of the actual accounts for the plant.
  • Management of all plants and entities in scope with the team to ensure reporting completeness in HFM.
  • Review of the complete budgets and forecasts; analyse and discuss on greater deviations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 years of controlling experience, preferably in a manufacturing company with full P&L responsibility.
  • University degree in Business / Finance or equivalent.
  • Accounting qualification – or equivalent experience.
  • ERP (SAP, HFM) skills.
  • Sound understanding of complex manufacturing environment.
  • Detailed costing understanding.
  • Deal with multiple deliverables.
