Job description

P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Buyer/Purchaser to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full time, ongoing temporary basis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Purchase and schedule material supplies according to specifications.
  • Raise purchase orders and gain appropriate business sign off for all purchases.
  • Build and maintain good supplier relations and negotiate order terms.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Dealing with supplier queries and resolving.
  • Assist relevant parties on vendor rejects and follow-on actions.
  • Reporting onto the system and keeping track of lead times and orders placed and received.
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
  • Liaise with the various teams and assist with supplier quotations.
  • Assist with relevant new vendor applications, monitoring and maintaining approved vendor status.
  • The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a flexible approach to changing work priorities at short notice.
  • Answering the phone, email questions and providing general office support where required.
  • Constant daily communication with various teams and managers to determine supply needs and timeframes required for the day and proactively for the week/month.
  • You will be expected to carry out any other duties that may be reasonable required in line with your main duties and that are commensurate with the grade.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to react quickly and think outside the box to resolve issue.
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Good attention to detail.

Working Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 17:00, Friday 08:00 – 13:00 (Flexibility available).
