Job description

P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients who are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time permanent contract.

Main Duties:

  • To carry out new installations.
  • To maintain and repair current installations.
  • Maintain electrical operation of amusement rides, equipment and systems to meet requirements, applying knowledge of electrical principles within fields.
  • Investigate equipment failures & difficulties and to diagnose faulty operation, and to repair accordingly.
  • Operations at times will include working at height using correct PPE and procedures.
  • To carry out ride assembly and dismantling at required times.
  • To carry out ride maintenance.
  • To clean and repair any electrical equipment or facility requiring attention.
  • To carry out daily ride inspections.
  • Continually monitor, appraise and test and certify Ride Operators in correct ride operation.
  • To assist in ride operation, if and when necessary.
  • To maintain all equipment and tools in good condition and use under H & S regulations.
  • To work in a safe manner regarding self, work colleagues and members of the public.
  • To ensure working area is kept clear of excess materials and tools etc.
  • To carry out electrical work at other venues operated by the company.
  • To carry out any other duties commensurate with this post. Flexibility must be evident with regard to different types of work and duties that may be required.

Person Specification:

  • To have ability to read and use electrical drawings.
  • To be trained in 18th. Edition BS 7671 standard (desirable).
  • To have strong diagnostic skills.
  • To have experience of electrical testing (PAT).
  • To have knowledge of AC/DC drives and their associated motors or pumps and PLC fault-finding.
  • To have experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.

Working Hours:

  • During peak period, weekend work will be included with 2 days off in the week.
  • In the winter months, Monday – Friday.
