Job description

P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently seeking Finishing Operatives to join their team based in Lowestoft on a full time, temporary to permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all Finishing tasks are carried out to job card and drawing instructions.
  • Assemble, pack and/or despatch finished products.
  • Carry out work in degreasing and on the spray-line as required.
  • Optimise own time and resources to fulfil business targets.
  • Continuously strive to improve processes/working practices.
  • Ensure finishing policies/procedures/checks are followed at all times.
  • Adhere to the company’s UK H&S policy and procedures at all times.
  • Regularly attend team/company meetings and relevant training to keep knowledge up to date.
  • When necessary, carry out other duties in the Finishing Department and other areas of the business as requested.

Education & Experience:

  • Good level of secondary education (Maths and English Grade C or above).
  • Ability to read basic engineering drawings and follow procedures.
  • Engineering background. (Beneficial)
  • Previous experience in powder coating or similar. (Desirable)
  • Computer literate.

  • Good practical skills for using plant, tools & equipment.
  • Good hand to eye coordination.
  • Self-motivated and able to solve problems.
  • Desire to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Good supportive team member.
  • Able to work accurately within timescales.
  • Good communication skills and integrity.
  • Confidence to ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Flexible approach, open to change and has the ability to be multi-skilled.
  • Good level of concentration and attention to detail.

Working Hours:

  • Mon-Thurs 06:00 – 15:00 or 09:00 – 18:00 and Fridays 06:00 – 14:00 (39.5 hours per week)
  • Flexibility during peak trading periods (may include evenings and weekends).
